Volvo Car Stadium is pleased to announce a new partnership with Daniel Island neighbor Dockery's to be the exclusive local craft beer provider for the venue. Dockery's, led by brewmaster Dustin Wilson, will launch a new custom beer to be served at Volvo Car Stadium this summer, No Fault, a light, golden ale with a low 4.0% ABV designed for drinking at the various outdoor events at Volvo Car Stadium. The two organizations are together launching a design contest for this new beer's can label. Contest winners will receive recognition on the can and at the launch event, $500 cash, and tickets to the Volvo Car Open finals. The official launch event will be announced at a later date.
Entries to the contest need to focus on the things that make the Daniel Island venue popular: an incredible tennis tournament, the summer concert music series, and their connection to the Lowcountry.
"We wanted to have a beer that was fresh and light, something from Charleston that would work both for the Volvo Car Open in the spring and our music series that begins just after the tournament," says Bob Moran, Tournament Director at Volvo Car Open. "The contest for the can seemed like a fun way to get people involved in what we're doing at the stadium."
"I love that our beer can will feature a local artist," said Dustin Wilson. "It's going to be fun to see what people come up with to really highlight the stadium and the city."
Contest entries must be received by 5pm on February 22nd through the web form at dockerysdi.com/contest. All rules are posted on that web page, as are templates for completing the design.
